October News
October 6, 2009
A lot is going on right now. Thanks to everyone who’s been keeping me busy for these past few weeks. Here is a list of things you might be interested in checking out this month!
- The original score for Little Dead Riding Hood is now available on iTunes! Just in time for the holiday season! You can still buy the physical CD at CDBaby as well. This is the complete soundtrack from Chicago Tap Theatre‘s incredibly successful story show from the Summer of 2009.
- I just finished the music and sound for the 60-second commercial spot for the Joffrey Ballet’s upcoming premiere of Othello. The spot is really sexy (produced by Left Brain/Right Brain Productions), and will be online at the Joffrey’s official site later this week. You’ll definitely want to check this out. This was doubly exciting for me as the score for the ballet was composed by Elliot Goldenthal. Can’t wait to see it!
- A Short Film About Love will be opening the Flint Film Festival in Flint, MI on October 16th. You can check their official site for info if you’re going to be in Flint that weekend. This is such a strange, delightful little film, and I’m so glad it’s getting more public screen time.
- Quearborn & Perversion — a feature-length documentary to which I’ve contributed about 20 minutes of music — will be screening at The Music Box Theatre in Chicago on Sunday, October 18th at 3:30pm and on Tuesday, October 20th at 7:30pm. The doc is, “a poignant and honest portrait of Chicago’s LGBT past”, detailing the gay and lesbian underground from 1930 – 1975. It’s a fascinating film and I recommend it highly. It was produced by the Chicago History Museum, and directed by Ron Pajak. You can purchase advance tix by clicking the link above, or at the door!
Work has begun on next year’s CTT Story Show, and collaborations with About Face Theatre, Singer-Songwriter Levi Sanford, and Ravenswood Pictures’ new SUPER SECRET web project are coming up very soon. Thank you for reading and listening!
